Lifelong
Learning

UBC Mining Engineering is committed to providing lifelong learning to all professionals who are involved in the field of mining.

Through inovative programs such as the Certificate in Mining Studies and the Mining Studies Institute, UBC Mining is making meaningful contributions to the learning needs of mining professionals.

Competitiveness and sustainability are making it necessary for companies in the mining industry to put increasing importance on finding a way for their personnel to stay current with new technology and best practices. As a result the concept of Lifelong Learning and the transformation of companies into Learning Organizations has growing relevance in the industry.

The NBK Institute of Mining Engineering understands the need to evolve in a changing world and so has undertaken to address this need through a program of Lifelong Learning. As a first step to achieving this larger goal, the Institute has partnered with EduMine (LNK) and CIM (LNK) to develop the UBC Certificate in Mining Studies, a combination of online and classroom learning, and the UBC Mining Studies Institute, a block of time during the summer dedicated to short-course learning.
